2nd Chance Books is an Islamic non-profit organization dedicated to the legacy of the 11th Imam, Ḥassan al-ʿAskari (ʿa), who spent the majority of his life in prison and under house arrest by the corrupt ruler of the time. Imam al-ʿAskari (ʿa) is the great grandson of our beloved Prophet Muḥammad (ṣ) and father of the 12th Imam Mahdi (ʿaj)

What we do

The USA has the highest incarceration rate in the entire world.

Americans only represent 5% of the entire world’s population, but its inmates comprise nearly 25% of the entire world’s incarcerated population. That is 2.3 million inmates.

Without proper access to educational resources, most of these individuals will fall victim to the cycle of the revolving door and become repeat offenders.

2nd Chance seeks to provide the proper tools for change. Our initiatives aim to promote awareness of the true teachings of Islam through the moral and ethics teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (ṣ) and his household (ʿa) in our program.
